Welcome To The Victorian Fashions Tea Party!

WELCOME TO THE VICTORIAN FASHIONS TEA PARTY!

A Victorian Fashions Tea Party At The Stegmaier Mansion B&B

.
Welcome kindred spirits, thank you for dropping in. Please get yourself a warm cup of tea and sit a while. I invite you to experience with me the pleasure of Victorian and Edwardian fashions, lifestyle and the Victorian ritual of taking afternoon tea.

As a professional Victorian era reenactor & public speaker,
my two passions are Victorian Fashions & Tea Parties. With this in mind I have created Victorian Fashions Tea Party to remind us of a kinder, gentler time.

Shall we then sit back, relax, sip our tea and become good friends? It is my hope that you will visit this site often and consider me a kindred spirit. I know that your time is valuable and I thank you for sharing yours with us. Are you ready to go back in time?

Imagine yourself in a stunning white lace tea dress, a lovely wide brim hat embellished with layers of lace, ribbon, flowers and feathers with a pretty lace parasol. Gloves, a hand crocheted reticule bag and white lace up boots complete the picture.

Do you hear the clip-clop of the horse’s hooves on the cobblestone? Your carriage is coming to pick you up, we are going to attend a grand Garden Party Tea, and the year is 1900…

CELEBRATION TIME!!!
Victorian Homes Magazine Is Coming To The Stegmaier Mansion B&B Where Our Victorian Friendship Society Meets!!

The Victorian Friendship Society is now in its seventh year!

We are pleased to announce that we have moved forward in the society with some changes, and with our membership growth. A warm welcome to our newest members!

It all began back in 2002 when I bought the book Sandy’s Tea Society by artist/author Sandy Clough.

It was a fictional story of friends who met for tea. I was looking for a way to connect with my own friends whom I didn’t see very often, we were all young mothers raising babies. I decided to start a tea society, I invited 30 women, 26 responded with a resounding yes, and the rest is history!

Each month the tea parties were hosted in my home, each with a different theme. Members baked or bought a dessert and for two hours it was bliss! We came away relaxed and refreshed!

We were known as The Pleasure Of Tea & Friends back then and it was a Ladies Only club. I wanted to expand our horizons, travel, do more than just meet for tea, and include gentleman in our society. So the name was changed to the domain name Victorian Friendship Society.com a few years ago.

Today we still have many of our original members and have a membership of 54 and growing, as new members are coming in this month. We also include gentleman now too, as well as ladies, since some of the husbands enjoy tea and traveling to our different events.

Victorian attire is admired, but not required. There are many of us that love to dress turn of the century, as it is a Victorian society. However, we encourage all members to come dressed in what they are most comfortable wearing.

Over the years we have had a steady increase of fine members and look forward to the next year with increased excitement!

Our society has the honor and distinction of meeting in a Victorian Mansion that is internationally recognized. As most of you know, Modern Bride magazine did a photo shoot last December 2008.

It gets better! We have the exclusive privilege of having my dear friend Joe Matteo, and the Stegmaier Mansion B&B where we have our home meetings, on the verge of another huge recognition.

Victorian Homes magazine's editor just contacted the Stegmaier Mansion and is coming to do a photo shoot in the next month!! We are all so happy for owner Joe Matteo, he truly deserves this honor and recognition for all of his hard work over the past nine years. Bravo Joe!!!

There are many exciting things planned for 2010 so stay tuned!

If you would like more information on becoming a member of our thriving society, please e-mail me here or at my web site at - Lisa@Victorianalady.com.

Let me introduce myself

I have been a work at home mom for about 23 years, before that I own a shop in our local City. It was had to keep up the store when I had my children. This is when I decided to work at home. While raising my children I made different crafts to sell to friends and craft shows. When they went to college I decided to enter the world of E commerce in which five years ago I open my own shop “Craft From My Heart.” http://www.craftfrommyheart.com Craft From… Continue
